When registering your business for 10DLC (10-digit long code), it is mandatory to have a comprehensive privacy policy on your website. Below is a detailed outline of the essential components your privacy policy must include:

Data Collection & Usage

  • Your privacy policy must specify what consumer information your business collects, and how your business intends to use this data.

Data Sharing Restrictions

  • No Sharing to Third Parties for Marketing: Your privacy policy must explicitly state that your business will not share or sell consumer information to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. This is a crucial requirement for 10DLC registration.
  • Prohibited Clauses: Your privacy policy cannot include any statements suggesting that the consumer has consented to their data being shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Such clauses would disqualify your business from registering for 10DLC.

Contact Information and Opt-Out Instructions

  • Contact Information: Your privacy policy must include clear instructions on how consumers can contact your business regarding their data privacy.
  • Opt-Out Instructions: Inform consumers of their right to opt out of receiving text communications. Your privacy policy should provide clear instructions on how they can do so, such as "If you would like to opt out of receiving text messages, please text STOP to (insert phone number here)."
